Description
20 High Street in Kirkwall is a later 19th century end-of-terrace house that has undergone some alterations. It is a single storey and attic structure with a symmetrical rectangular plan, featuring three bays and gabled dormers, situated on rising ground to the west. The exterior is harled.
On the north (principal) elevation, there is a deep-set part-glazed timber-panelled door located in the central bay. Each bay has a window at both the ground floor and the attic level. The windows are 4-pane timber sash and case types. The roof was in the process of being re-slated in 1998. The building has a harled gablehead stack with a cornice to the west and a tall, harled, coped gablehead stack to the east. The rainwater goods are made of uPVC.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
