Description

  1. 2-storey with basement, 3-bay, rectangular-plan, former Police station with vaulted cells in basement exposed to rear. Squared and snecked sandstone coursers with bull-facing to quoins and stugged margins.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 2-storey, stone steps to 2-leaf main door with letterbox fanlight, bull-faced panel above. Regular fenestration with small window to centre of 1st floor.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: 3-storey, irregular fenestration, tall modern stair window to centre; door to centre ground; stone steps leading to wooden lean-to porch to left of 1st floor.

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: irregular fenestration.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: irregular fenestration with 2 small barred windows at ground.

Modern double glazing. Grey slates. Coped skews with shouldered skewputts, coped gable end stacks. Cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: ground and 1st storey 1962 conversion to dwelling house. 3 brick, vaulted cells in basement to W; laundry room to E.

BOUNDARY WALL: low wall with decorative cast-iron gate and railings; coped, bull-faced ashlar coursers.
