Description
This is an earlier 19th-century building on Main Street, Kilbirnie, comprising 4 bays and originally two storeys. The facade is of painted ashlar with painted margins. The central bay is recessed, featuring a round-headed doorway with a fanlight and pilastered jambs. Flanking the doorway are windows, and the outer bays contain shop fronts. A pilastered ground floor supports a continuous frieze and cornice. Four sash windows are located on the first floor, set within lugged architraves. The building has an eaves course cornice and a blocking course, topped by a central wall-head pediment containing a panelled stack. End stacks rise from the slate roof. The statutory address covers numbers 49, 51 and 53 Main Street.
