Description
This is a mid-19th century building, originally designed as regional offices and located at 37 and 39 Main Street, Kilbirnie. It is a symmetrical building of two storeys and three bays. The exterior is painted ashlar with painted margins. The facade features three windows, each separated by a recessed doorway. These doors have rectangular fanlights above, flanked by panelled pilasters that support a frieze and cornice. Above are three sash windows on the first floor, set within architraves. A continuous eaves course, cornice, and blocking course run along the top of the building, with a central wall-head pediment incorporating twin octagonal stacks linked by a cornice. The building has end stacks and a slate roof.
