Description

The Parish Church in Brodick, Isle of Arran, was built in 1910 and features a rectangular plan with a vestry and a tower, showcasing simple Gothic architectural details. The exterior is constructed from stugged and snecked red sandstone, with polished ashlar dressings and a slate roof. Notable features include raised quoins, margined windows, coped skews, and shouldered gables. The front elevation has bipartite windows and a Y-traceried gallery window, while the side elevations are adorned with three-light pointed windows and narrow tower windows. The belfry openings are Venetian-type and pointed at the center.

On the front elevation, there are paired doors at the center with chamfered jambs and a moulded segmental-arched doorhead, flanked by bipartite windows. Above, a four-light gallery window is present, with a clasping buttress to the right. The tower is located to the left, featuring a narrow window at the first stage and belfry openings above on all elevations. The corniced battlemented parapet has raised angle dies, and a pyramidal spirelet with a weathervane finial completes the design.

The right side elevation has a slightly recessed bay to the left with a bipartite window, followed by two three-light windows and a gable-headed stepped window at the far right. The left side elevation features two three-light windows in the center, with an advanced gable to the left that includes a stepped three-light window and a door with a corniced doorcase on the right return. The tower is slightly advanced to the right.

At the rear, there is a canted apse with pointed windows on either side, all covered by a slate roof.

The church hall, which is a rectangular-plan structure, includes an entrance porch and a rear addition. It is clad in corrugated metal with a corrugated roof made of modern materials and features tripartite, multi-pane, timber segmental-headed windows. The front gable has paired doors with a fanlight above.

Plain metal railings with decorative panels are present at the front of the property.
