Description

The sundial dates from 1673. It is a polygonal stone dial standing on a stepped plinth. The plinth incorporates recessed heart and circular shapes, and the dial itself is mounted on a four-sided baluster. The baluster has a curved base and an egg and dart cornice. The baluster is dated and bears the initials "CMP". MacGibbon and Ross noted in their publication "C & D Arch." Vol. V, pages 434-435 (1887-92), that this sundial is unusual in style for its type.
