Description
Birtlebog is an earlier 19th-century group of two single-storey, three-bay cottages with flanking wings, arranged in a U-shaped plan. The cottages are constructed of painted rubble with painted dressings. The cottages have a central doorway to each, and sash windows. A modern wooden porch is located on the right-hand cottage. The east wing features a large rectangular opening and a single door, while the west wing has narrow, vertical "arrow-slit" ventilators. Access to the rear is gained via a doorway located in a modern shed situated in the re-entrant angle. The roofs are covered with slate. A circular path and a central iron wheel, remnants of a former horse-powered mechanism, are situated near the south-east corner.
