Description
St Brendan's Roman Catholic Church in Craigston, Barra, was probably built in 1858. It is a simple, rectangular, three-bay Gothic church featuring pointed windows and harled exterior walls. The church has a gabled porch on the east gable and two lights on the west gable. Most windows have intersecting tracery, and the straight skews are slightly swept near the eaves. The roof is covered with plastic tiles designed to imitate slate and features cross finials.
Inside, there is an arched recess at the liturgical east, which has some cusped panelling and is flanked by doors. There is also a gallery at the east end with a boarded front supported by two wooden columns.
