Parish Church And Churchyard, Cuier, Barra

The Parish Church and Churchyard in Cuier, Barra, was designed by Peter Dawson, a builder from Barra, in 1825 and constructed between 1829 and 1834. It is a simple, rectangular-plan church with four bays and harled walls. The east wall features four tall, round-headed windows with modern glazing, while the west wall is blank. There is a round-headed door with a fanlight located in the south gable beneath the apex belfry. The church has straight skews and a slate roof.

The interior was renovated around 1982 and includes simple woodwork. The south end has been partitioned to create a vestry and porch. The church is situated at the southwest end of a quadrangular burial enclosure, which has rubble-built walls and a single gatepier with a pyramidal cap at the southwest, along with some burial enclosures.
