Description
The Church of St Thomas, built around 1845, is a simple aisleless rectangular structure with five bays designed in the Early Gothic style. It features a steep tiled roof with a bell turret at the western end. The walls are constructed of brownstone rubble with ashlar dressings. A parapet, supported on brackets, adds to the design. Tall lancet openings have hood moulds that extend from the springer level, serving as a weathering band. Below this level, the church is adorned with stepped buttresses, a cill band, and a plinth. The eastern gable showcases a quatrefoil above three lancet windows, while the western gable features a large traceried light above a moulded arched doorway.
