Description
1 Gardner's Cottages on the Altyre Estate is a two-storey, L-plan house designed by John Kinross and dated 1901. The building features a regular three-bay south front, with a harled exterior and tooled and polished ashlar dressings. The central entrance has an ornate doorpiece, showcasing long and short detailing on the roll-moulded jambs, and a carved decorative overdoor with a date and monogram above a corniced lintel. This doorway is flanked by paired windows.
There is a second entrance located in the rear wing, which includes a gabletted ashlar dormer that breaks the wallhead above, featuring multi-pane glazing. The house is topped with crowstepped gables, moulded copes on the ridge stacks, and a stone slate roof.
