Description
2 Gardener's Cottages, located on the Altyre Estate, is a two-storey house built around 1901 by John Kinross. The house is south-facing and has a four-bay front with a rear wing that forms an L-shape. It features harled walls with tooled and polished ashlar dressings. The entrance is located in the outer southeast bay and has an ogee-headed lintel above a roll-moulded doorpiece, with an ashlar-framed blind plaque above it. A segmental-headed ashlar dormer with a finial breaks the wallhead, and there are paired windows on the first floor of the west gable, featuring 12- and 16-pane glazing. The building is topped with crowsteps and has a moulded cope on the rear ridge stacks, all covered by a stone slate roof.
