Description

Estate Bridge at Cullen House was designed by William Adam and dated 1744. It is a tall single span bridge made of squared tooled granite, with tooled granite ashlar dressings. The granite ashlar arch ring is flanked by pilastered buttresses, and masonry causeways connect the bridge to the sides of the gorge. There is a band course and a square inscribed plaque, which is damaged, set in the center of the north face of the parapet. The parapet features an unusual interlocking keyed and tooled ashlar cope. The bridge has a height of 64 feet and a span of 84 feet.
