Description
This is a late 18th century house situated on The Square in Archiestown. It is a symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay structure facing south, with a single-storey, single-bay wing set back at the east gable. Constructed of mixed pink and yellow local granite with dark granite pinnings, the flanks and rear are harled. The front door is centrally positioned, and the windows have 9, 12, and 16 panes of glazing; the extension also features 16-pane windows. There are small gable attic lights, coped end stacks, and a local slate roof. A modern enlarged ground floor window is visible at the rear. The building presents an interesting combination of granite types in its construction.
