Description
This is an 1848-built, two-storey house of symmetrical design, facing south with a pediment. The exterior is harled (roughcast) with polished ashlar dressings, and contrasting painted, tooled ashlar margins. A corniced doorpiece is centrally placed and supported by engaged columns in the Greek Doric style. The windows have four panes of glass each, with coped end stacks (chimneys) and a slate roof, now incorporating modern skylights. The west gable has been altered with irregular window placement in a later phase. Details relating to the building's history can be found in W Ewing’s Annals of the Free Church (1914).
