Description
5 Castle Street in Findochty is a house built around 1910. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure made of dark rubble with contrasting painted joints and concrete dressings. The wide entrance in the center features a cornice, a rectangular fanlight, and side lights. The entrance door is panelled with a cushioned cross-rail and matching side panels below the lights. The ground floor has bipartite windows, while the outer bays have gabled dormers and the center has a piended dormer. Most windows have segmental-headed lintels and feature 2- and 4-pane glazing, with coloured Art Nouveau lights at the entrance. The house has coped end stacks, a slate roof, and decorative cast-iron finials at the tops of the dormers. There is also a garage at the west gable.
