Description
This 17th century lectern dovecot is constructed from heavily pointed rubble, with tooled rubble and tooled ashlar dressings. The south-facing structure features an off-centre low door that has roll-moulded door jambs. There are three rat courses that return around the east and west gables, each gable has three diamond-shaped vents, and there are four small swept dormer flight holes. The crowsteps are made of tooled rubble, and the roof is covered with local slate.
Inside, the dovecot is divided into four small inter-communicating compartments that contain a total of 660 stone nesting boxes.
