Description
164-166 High Street in Elgin is a classical building designed by A and W Reid in 1845. It features two storeys and five bays. The ground floor is finished in polished ashlar with channeling, while the flanking sections are made of rubble. The three central bays are slightly recessed and connected by a shallow balcony that has decorative cast-iron railings. All windows are topped with bracketed cornices and the outer bays have pediments. The building also has moulded architraves, a cornice, and a shallow parapet with a raised central portion supported by console brackets. The roof is slate.
