Description
The Walled Garden at Burgie House, likely built around 1802, is a substantial roughly square garden featuring an inner walled garden. Its walls are made of harl pointed rubble and are partially capped with tooled rubble. A tetrastyle portico has been reconstructed against the east wall, facing west. This portico originally served as the entrance to the mansion house built in 1802 but was taken down during a reconstruction in 1912 and has now been re-erected at its current location. The entrance to the garden is on the west side, where there are carriage and pedestrian gateways flanked by simple square tooled rubble piers topped with flat caps.
