171-173 High Street, Elgin

175 and 177 High Street in Elgin are a pair of three-storey, three-bay dwellings built in the earlier 19th century. The ground floor features modern shop fronts, while the first and second floors have classical ashlar facades. All windows are adorned with moulded architraves, and there is a cornice at the first floor. A moulded cornice and blocking course are also present. There is a cill band that links the second-floor windows at 171-173 High Street. The second-floor windows at 175-177 have eight-pane glazing, while other windows have either two or four panes. To the right of 175-177, there is a narrow pend entrance that leads to a mid-19th century two-storey range in the close, constructed of rubble with tooled dressings. The buildings have coped stacks and slate roofs.
