Description
This building, located at 101 and 103 High Street in Forres, dates from around 1860 and features three storeys with five bays. It is constructed of tooled rubble with ashlar dressings. The central entrance is a pend, flanked by shopfronts. On the upper floors, the central section is flanked by giant pilasters that support an open pediment topped with an acroterion. The windows in the centre are bipartite, with a panelled apron on the second floor. The first-floor windows have cornices and are bipartite at the end bays. The second-floor windows of the outer bays have bracketed cills and open segmental pedimented dormerheads. The building has 2-pane glazing and features panelled ashlar chimneystacks with moulded copes, topped by a slated roof.
