Description
This building at 76C High Street in Forres dates back to 1869 and features three storeys with four bays that alternate between wide and narrow. The exterior is made of stugged rubble with tooled and polished ashlar dressings. The bays are separated by full-height channelled pilaster strips. An off-centre door is set within a broad pilastered and corniced doorpiece, flanked by shop windows. There is a stilted, segmental-headed window in the narrow bay and a window above the door. All windows have moulded architraves and panelled aprons on the first floor. A moulded cill course is present on the second floor, along with a bracketed cornice and blocking course. The building is topped with wallhead triple square chamfered ashlar corniced chimneys and has a slate roof.
