St Brendon's And Ardlui, 67-69 South Guildry Street, Elgin

St Brendon's and Ardlui, located at 67-69 South Guildry Street in Elgin, is a house built between 1861 and 1863 by George Petrie, with a late 19th century addition. This two-storey, three-bay house features a late 19th century porch and flanking bay windows. The exterior is made of tooled rubble with extensive polished ashlar dressings. The central entrance has large, decoratively glazed windows, which are flanked by slightly set-back tripartite windows. These elements are connected by a balustraded wallhead that has a bracketed cornice and ball finials. The ground floor window has been enlarged, and there are two first-floor windows on the west (street) gable. The windows have 2- and 4-pane glazing, and the building includes long and short quoins, an eaves band, and corniced end wallhead stacks. The roof is piended and covered with slate. There is also a rear wing. The property is enclosed by coped garden walls, and the ashlar gatepiers with shallow pyramidal copes flank the pedestrian entrance, which is linked by a cast-iron overthrow that incorporates the name 'St Brendons'.
