Description
The headstone for James Reid, located in Kilmacolm Cemetery, was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1898. It is a rectangular Art Nouveau headstone made of sandstone, featuring angled corners. The headstone includes a central recessed inscribed panel and is adorned with carved stylised heads on either side. There is moulding around the central panel and the exterior edges of the stone. The decorative heads are designed with continuous flowing lines that extend down and across the headstone, complemented by some carved leaf designs.
