Description
Cathcart House is a large five-storey building from the mid-19th century, located at 6 Cathcart Square in Greenock. It occupies a corner site and features single windows arranged in regular bays, adorned with classical ornamentation. The upper floors are painted with contrasting architraves and dressings. The windows on the first floor have pediments, while there are cill bands and corniced hoods above the second floor. Both the third and fourth storeys have corniced detailing, and the building is topped with a blocking course. The top floor has small-paned sash windows, and the roof is piended and covered with slate.
