Description
St Finnan’s Church is a Roman Catholic church built around 1935 by Ian G Lindsay. It is a simple rectangular building with a gabled roof, harled externally with contrasting painted margins. The north and south elevations are long and feature three bays each. The entrance is located at both the southeast and northeast corners, accessed by forestairs. A mural sundial is positioned at the southeast angle. The church has square-headed windows with 12 panes of glass, crowsteps, and a slate roof. The interior is plain, with an altar (facing east, towards the liturgical east) situated at the western gable. The building remains in ecclesiastical use. Further details are documented in the Royal Institute of British Architects Journal, April 1967.
