Description

Dated 1865, 4 Nursery Cottages is a long, low single-storey range, originally comprising four dwellings but now used as two. The building is constructed of harl-pointed rubble with harled gables and rear, featuring painted reveals. A gabled slate canopy, supported by painted wooden columns, protects the central doorway. The windows are 12-pane sashes, and the roof is slate, with end and ridge stacks. Built by the Ellice family as an estate cottage, the building has an unusual internal plan.
