Description
Tigh A Mhuilinn and the terrace of three houses known as Mrs Mackay's House form part of an estate village overlooking the Dunbeath Water. Tigh A Mhuilinn dates to the late 19th century and is a single-storey and attic, three-bay house constructed of rubble with cast concrete dressings. It features a central door flanked by bipartite windows, with two dormers rising through the wallhead and incorporating bargeboards. The windows are two-pane, and the roof is slate, with end stacks.
To the west is a terrace of three houses, built around 1870 and facing south. These houses are linked internally; the two to the east forming a single dwelling, and the westernmost house is joined to Tigh a Mhuilinn internally. They are built of rubble with tooled dressings and each has three bays. Each house has a single-storey and attic layout, with three gabletted dormers rising through the wallheads. The windows are four-pane, and the roofs are slate, with ridge and end stacks. A modern, single-storey, single-bay addition is visible to the east gable.
