Description

This is a pair of houses dating to circa 1870, situated in The Village, Dunbeath. Each house is two storeys in height and three bays wide, with a central front door. The walls are of rubble construction, with tooled rubble dressings. Each house has three gabletted dormers projecting from the roofline, four-pane glazing in the windows, end chimney stacks, and slate roofs. The west dwelling was the childhood home of the writer Neil Gunn. The statutory address is Dunbeath, The Village (Macewen and Farquhar).
