Description
17 Sinclair Terrace in Wick is a house built around 1830. It is a two-storey, three-bay, rectangular-plan building with a symmetrical design and a gabled roof. The front features a pedimented portico in antis and is constructed from coursed Caithness stone slabs, with a base course, a dividing band between the floors, and a cill course on the first floor.
On the northeast (principal) elevation, there is a tripartite panelled door at the center with a letterbox fanlight above it. The doorway is framed with an architrave and flanked by Doric columns in antis that support a slightly projecting pediment. The windows on either side are set within slightly recessed bays, and the upper storey openings have raised, broached, and droved ashlar margins. The center window is flanked by narrow blind windows.
The southeast (side) elevation features a blind gable end, while the northwest (side) elevation is adjacent to No. 18. The southwest (rear) elevation was not visible during the last inspection in 2001.
The interior was also not seen in 2001. The house has 12-pane sash and case windows, a roof covered with grey slates, raised skews, coped gable stacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods.
