Description

Dovecote; dated 1677. Square roofless grey rubble structure,

with pink sandstone ashlar dressings. 2 storeys, with

vaulted chamber in ground floor with entrance in centre of

elevation and dovecote in 1st storey, with entrance in east

elevation accessible only by ladder, moulded doorpieces to

each entrance, with worn plaque above that in ground floor.

Sandstone long and short detailing to angles; rat courses

encircle building at mid height and below wallhead. 4

flightholes in west elevation and 2 in south.

Burial ground; simple rubble walled burial ground with

rounded dressed rubble cope; plain gate at pedestrian

entrance.
