Description
This is a community and sports centre, originally a Free Church manse, built in 1843 and possibly incorporating earlier fabric. It was altered and repaired in 1854 by Alexander Messer. The building is two storeys and four bays, with a two-storey, two-bay extension to the rear. The exterior is harled, with contrasting painted margins. The ground and first floor windows on the front (south) elevation are paired in the central bays, with some narrower ground floor windows elsewhere. A lean-to porch is situated at the rear on the right-hand side. Windows are spaced on the west and east gables: two on the ground floor of the west gable, and one ground and one first floor window on the east gable. The windows feature 12-pane glazing. The building has rendered end stacks and a slate roof. A modern addition has been made to the rear. References include Ewing's Annals of the Free Church and an advertisement for tenders published in the Inverness Courier in August 1854.
