Description
This is a circa 1830 house with later alterations, situated on Newton Road in Evanton, and known as Newton of Novar. It is a two-storey and attic, three-bay structure. The house features harled walls with ashlar dressings. A later, pilastered and corniced doorpiece was added, along with a wide, canted bay window on the left (west) side, featuring 12-pane glazing. Elsewhere, the windows have 16 panes, with a blind window centrally positioned on the first floor. A single, later flat-headed, asymmetrical dormer is present. The roof is covered with piended platform slate and incorporates paired ridge stacks. Single-storey, two-bay extensions have been added to both the east and west gables.
