Description
This is an early 19th-century ice house, a large, single-chambered vaulted structure built with rubble and dressed with tooled rubble. It was likely a commercial ice house. It features a wide, central door on its north-facing, coped, rounded gable, with the sides projecting slightly forward as wings. The ice house is turf-covered and includes a rear ice chute. Its design is reminiscent of ice houses at Brora and Helmsdale. A small timber shed has been erected on top of the structure. The statutory address is Littleferry Ice House.
