Description
Pella is a two-storey and attic house with three bays, built around 1844 and renovated in 1906. The house is constructed of coursed rubble with tooled dressings. The central bay is recessed and accessed by a short flight of three steps, featuring a fanlight above a modern door, with a bipartite window above. The ground floor outer bays have taller bipartite windows. The windows generally feature 12-pane glazing, with two small, gabled bargeboarded dormers, likely dating from 1906, each with 4-pane glazing. The roof is slate, with corniced end stacks. A single-storey, single-bay wing extends to the rear.
Originally built soon after the Disruption of 1843 as a Free Church manse, it later served as a United Free Church manse, and subsequently as the Parish Manse following the union of 1929.
