Description

49 Breadalbane Terrace in Wick is a semi-detached pair of houses built around 1850. These two-storey, two-bay homes have a rectangular plan and feature gabled roofs. The exterior is made of coursed Caithness stone slabs, with yellow sandstone ashlar used for the margins and quoins around the openings.

For No. 48, the principal elevation faces northwest and has a door located to the right. It includes modern double glazed windows and a large box dormer on the right side. The roof is covered with grey slates and has a broad coped gable stack.

No. 49 also has a northwest principal elevation, featuring a tripartite panelled door on the left, which is topped by a letterbox fanlight with circular patterned glazing bars. The upper storey windows are adorned with bowed cast-iron balconies. This house has modern timber sash and case windows, a roof covered with concrete tiles, and a broad coped gable stack.

The rear elevations and interiors of both houses were not seen during the assessment in 2001.
