Description
The gate lodge, probably designed by Rowand Anderson around 1896, served as an entrance building to the former Glencoe House. It is a single-story building with an asymmetrical design. The walls are harled (roughcast) with polished red sandstone margins and dressings. A projecting east-facing porch provides access from the drive and features decorative dummy studding and multi-pane glazing. The south elevation has two bays, with one bay projecting and incorporating a small bowed bay window. The windows are fitted with multi-pane glazing. Tall ridge stacks rise from the roof, which is covered in bellcast red tiles.
