Burial-Ground, Old Parish Church, Arisaig

The Old Parish Church in Arisaig is a burial ground that likely dates back to the late medieval period. It is a simple rectangular structure oriented east to west, featuring a small burial enclosure at the west gable. The church is constructed entirely of rubble, with entrances located in the southwest and southeast, the latter being a former priest's entrance. There is also a very low doorway leading to the west burial enclosure, which belongs to the Macdonalds of Morar. The church is roofless and shows some damage to the east gable wall.

Attached to the church is a small roofless burial enclosure that has a semi-circular chamfered mural recess in the north wall, which contains a carved, crested stone dated 1641 and initialled MRGM. Above this recess is a mural memorial tablet dated 1843. The church is situated within a simple drystone-walled burial ground that contains at least three medieval or late medieval tombstones, as well as headstones from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
