Arisaig Railway Station

Arisaig Railway Station, built in 1901, is a single-storey, symmetrical building with three bays that includes a ticket office and waiting room. The exterior is harled with contrasting painted window reveals. The north front, which faces the platform and railway, features a segmental-headed recess flanked by canted bay windows. The outer gable walls, which are partially glazed, extend forward to support a projecting roof that creates a continuous verandah in front of the building and platform. There is a secondary entrance in the centre of the east gable, which has multi-pane glazing. The building also has end stacks and a piended slate roof with deep eaves.

The signal box, built in the same year by the Railway Signal Company, is a two-storey structure with a square plan and is weather boarded, painted in two contrasting shades of green. It has a glazed locking room with timber astragalled windows featuring curved framing at the top. The signal box includes a timber forestair, a slate roof, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Inside, there is a 15 lever, Stevens and Son, pattern frame.
