Description

The Bullough Mausoleum, built in the early 20th century, is designed as an open Doric temple with four columns (tetrastyle). It stands on a concrete base and is accessed by shallow steps. The temple is constructed entirely of polished sandstone and features a local slate roof with a cross at the apex. Inside, there are three large table tombs: the central tomb is made of polished sandstone and is dedicated to John Bullough, while the two flanking tombs are crafted from pink polished granite. The temple is surrounded by a series of squat round polished sandstone piers that are connected by chains.
