Description
This is a mid-19th century mission church, originally likely a single-storey, three-bay dwelling house converted for ecclesiastical purposes. The building is constructed of harl-pointed rubble. The south-facing front, which overlooks the road, features a wide, central door with a double-leaf plank door, flanked by windows with 12-pane glazing. The wall corners are corbelled out to create exaggerated pointed angles at the wallhead. The roof is piended and slated, with a projecting eaves detail.
Inside, the simple interior is plank-lined, furnished with benches and a Minister's desk. The building is currently in use as an ecclesiastical building and has served various church denominations. It represents an unusual example of vernacular architecture. It was incorrectly marked on Ordnance Survey maps (sheet 40, 1:50,000).
