Description
85 West George Street in Glasgow is a four-storey commercial building designed by Peddie and Kinnear in 1872, showcasing an early Renaissance style. It occupies a double corner site with nine bays and three return bays facing West Nile Street and Nelson Mandela Place. The building is constructed of painted ashlar. The ground floor features shouldered lintels, while the first floor has stilted segmental arches, the second floor showcases round arches, and the third floor is designed with square heads. The building is topped with deep bracketed eaves and a piended slate roof.
