Frank Burnet and Boston, 1931-2. Modern classical office block. 7 storeys and basement, 5 x 6 bays, arranged 1-3-1 at St Vincent Street, 1-4-1 at Wellington Street. Steel frame faced with red sandstone. Giant order of stylised Greek Doric columns and antae at ground and

1st floors on continuous granite podium with fluted panels between floors. Architraved double framed entrance in E bay at St Vincent Street with oakleaf surround and keyblock; sculpted coat of arms above. Bold cornice over 1st floor. Windows to upper floors divided by

giant pilaster strips; narrow outer bays with window aprons at clasping angles. Main cornice with dentil band and coupled flat consoles at angles. Ornamented die walls to St Vincent Street. Wrought-iron

balusters and lamp standards with carved griffins in plinths.
