Description

A Graham Henderson, built 1922, designed 1913. 5-storey neo-classical quadrant with single bay flanks to High Street and Trongate. Polished ashlar with polished grey granite to ground floor. 5-bay curving elevation with slightly wider end bays, single wide angled corner bay at S bay. Angled bay to left and single bay to Trongate. Ground floor bank with entrance to Trongate.

Windows to ground and 1st tripartite with timber mullion and transom detail, all small-pane glazing.

2nd and 3rd floors to curving main elevation and to wide flanking single bays, giant Ionic columns in antis, 2nd floor windows consoled and corniced. Eaves cornice over 3rd with cast-iron balustrade with die piers. 4th (attic) floor with wide windows, deep parapet over with

ashlar die balustrade and urn finials. Angled bay has wrought-iron balcony at 2nd niche to 4th floor. Moulded cornice over 1st floor.
