Description
157-159 Trongate in Glasgow is an earlier 19th-century warehouse that has been altered for use as shops on the ground floor. The building is four stories high and has seven bays, featuring painted rendered walling. The windows are single light, with those on the first floor set in lugged architraves that include panelled apron-blocks. The second-floor windows are also architraved and margined, while the third-floor windows are sash and case with plate-glass glazing. There are cill bands at the second and third cills, and the building has a moulded eaves cornice and blocking courses. Tie plates are present at the first and second floors, and the roofs are covered with slate.
