Description
Strathbungo United Presbyterian Church, located at 41-43 Nithsdale Drive in Glasgow, was designed by Alexander Skirving and built in 1887 as a Mission Hall for Queen's Park United Presbyterian Church. The building features a "Thomsonesque" style, characterized by a small temple front made of stone-cleaned ashlar, which is flanked by two pylons. A grand set of steps, piers, gates, and railings leads to the central door. The remainder of the structure is constructed from red brick, with stepped window moulding on the sides made of contrasting yellow brick. The church also includes a basement, and the furthest bay has a transverse broad-eaved gabled roof, with all roofs slated.
