The exterior is made of polished ashlar, which has been partially stone-cleaned, and is channelled at the ground level. The doors are adorned with inset pilasters. The building includes some canted bays, while most of the windows are single, featuring original plate glass sashes that are hooded at the first floor. There are horizontal string courses and a stone-bracketted cornice. The building has chimney stacks and slate roofs. Additionally, there are cast-iron railings surrounding the basement area and steps, with the treads supported by metal girders. The detailing of the building continues on the return elevation.
