126, 128, 130 Queen's Drive, Glasgow

This is a later 19th century tenement building located at 138, 140, and 142 Queen's Drive in Glasgow. It stands three storeys high over a basement and features Thomsonesque detailing. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar stone that has been cleaned, and it retains original plate glass sash windows. The ground floor is channelled, with wall areas between openings designed to resemble pilasters, and the main flat doorways are adorned with inset pilasters. The first floor windows are topped with consoled hoods and disc friezes, and there are horizontal string courses and a deep main entablature. Some of the windows are canted bays. The chimney stacks have mostly been rebuilt, and the roof is covered with modern tiles. The basement area and steps feature cast-iron railings designed by Thomson, which are supported by metal girders. The decorative detailing continues on the return elevations of the building.
