Description

New Bridgegate Church and Hall, located at 69 Dixon Road in Glasgow, is a building designed in the Scots Gothic style by Thomson, Sandilands and MacLeod. The hall was constructed between 1915 and 1916, while the church was built later, from 1922 to 1923, due to the war, although its design likely dates back to around 1915.

The former church occupies a corner site and features massive traceried windows in the west gable, stepped buttresses with crocketted pinnacles, and a side aisle facing Dixon Road. A square tower rises centrally, topped with an open belfry stage, crocketted pinnacles, and a lucarned red-tiled spire. There is a war memorial at ground level, and the west end of the aisle includes a gabled porch.

The former hall has its flank facing Dixon Road and consists of five bays, with a door located on the left. The second bay is gabled and treated as a shallow transept. The roofs are slated, with green slates used for the church.
