Description

Dovehill Court is a five-storey tenement building located at 163-179 Gallowgate in Glasgow, designed by James M Monro and dated 1879. The building is constructed from stone-cleaned yellow ashlar and features shops on the ground floor. It has a curved corner bay with a datestone set in a panel above. The architectural style includes classical details, with windows that are arranged as 2/3 light, flanked by single lights. The first-floor windows have arched window-head panels, while the second-floor windows are topped with pedimented heads. A deep blocked cornice runs along the top, and the shallow-pitched roof is concealed from view from the street.
